الربلة نبات عشبي حولي قصير له اوراق طويلة تخرج من قاعدة الجذر ذات تخطيط متواز ومغطاة بشعيرات كثيرة ولون الأوراق يميل إلى اللون الأخضر الرصاصي (كانه عليها غبارا) تخرج من النبات سيقان دون اوراق و تظهر في نهايتها ازهار متجمعة بعضها فوق بعض معطية كتلة بيضاوية الشكل، الثمار صغيرة تحوي الثمرة بذرتين، تعرف الربلة بعدة اسماء على مستوى الوطن العربي مثل: لسان الحمل، ينم، قريطة، آذان الصخلة.... وغيرها من الاسماء، إن محلول الأوراق يستخدم كطارد للبلغم وبحة الصوت والتهاب الشعب الهوائية وهو علاج ممتاز للسعال كما تستعمل الأوراق الطازجة لعلاج
