شجيرة سيسالبينيا وهي نوع نباتي من جنس البقم من الفصيلة البقولية، ويضم هذا الجنس حوالي (80)نوعا نباتيا، موطنها الأصلي هو امريكا الجنوبية، يمتاز باوراقه البيضوية الريشية الصغيرة، تعتبر من الأشجار الجميلة جدا لجمال ازهارها الملونة، والتي تستمر لفترة طويلة وهي من النوع المتساقطة الأوراق، اي تسقط اوراقها في الشتاء، وتعاود النمو في الربيع.
شجرة زينة ملفتة للنظر، تزرع على نطاق واسع في الحدائق المنزلية و الحدائق العامة، وعلى جوانب الطرق العامة.
تزهر الشجيرة في بداية الصيف، والازهارعبارة عن نورة عنقودية لونها ابيض الى ابيض مصفر جميلة ذات اسدية حمراء طويلة، لذلك تشبه بالشوارب اما الثمار فهي قرن مبطط لونه اصفر عند النضج، اصغر من ثمار البونسيانا, تحوي على بذور قلبية الشكل، بنية اللون غامقة عليها نقط سودا
- تتحمل الحرارة المرتفعة والجفاف ولاتتأثر بالصقيع، إلا ان ذلك يكون على حساب عملية التزهير عندما اليكون المناخ مناسب لها.
