الكينة أو الكافور واحدة من الاشجار المزروعة بشكل واسع، وتعرف أيضاً بالصمغ الأزرق. موطنها الاصلي قارة أستراليا. ويصل ارتفاع الكينة عادة إلى 30 متراً أو أكرث وألاوراق الصغيرة عريضة في زوجين متقابلين ومغطاة بطبقة زرقاء إلى رمادية اللون، وعند اكتمال نموها تصبح مستدقة الشكل ومنحنية وخضراء غامقة اللون ويصل طولها إلى 20 سم.
الأزهار كريمية اللون تنتج رحيقاً له مذاق العسل. والثمار مستديرة الشكل تحتوي على بذور صغيرة تنتشر من خلال قمة الثمرة.
وكبقية أنواع الاوكاليبتوس؛ فللكينة جذور متعمقة ومنتشرة سريعة النمو ومتأقلمة مع الظروف الصحراوية.
