شجرة الزنزلخت وتدعى أيضاً الميليا وشجرة الخرز والتوت الصيني وزهرة الزنبق الأعجمية ومفخرة الهند والأزدرخت. والزنزلخت شجرة متساقطة الأوراق يصل ارتفاعها من 6 إل 17 متراً، ويصل انتشار أفرعها إلى 12 متراً. والأزدرخت كلمة أعجمية مؤلفة من شقين أزاد وتعني "بهية" ودرخت وتعني "شجرة" فهي الشجرة البهية.
منشأ الزنزلخت جنوب غربي آسيا وغربي الصين. وللشجرة تاج واسع مفتوح. وفي الغالب يتكون لها أفرع متعددة. والأوراق خضراء ناضرة، ريشية مركبة مزدوجة، مرتبة تبادلياً، والوريقات بيضاوية مسننة الحواف. والأزهار أرجوانية، أو بنفسجية أو صفراء تميل إلى اللون الأبيض، تظهر في فصل الربيع في نورة عنقودية مفتوحة يصل طولها إلى 25 سم. وحجم الزهرة الواحدة 1,5 سم. وتبدأ الشجرة في الإزهار عند عمر ثلاث سنوات أو أربع. والثمرة حسلة مدورة الشكل صفراء اللون جذابة يصل قطرها إلى نحو 1 سم. وكان الناس فيما مضى يستخدمون بذور الزنزلخت لصنع خرزات السبح. ويوصى بتقليم النبات بين الحين والآخر.
