البوهينيا شجرة متساقطة الأوراق ، تعتبر من أروع أشجار الزينة تفرز زهورها رائحة عطرة مستحبة ، تتميز زهورها بلونين جميلين البنفسجي والأبيض وتشبه زهور الأوركيد، يمكن الحصول عليها من بداية يناير الى أكتوبر ، تبدأ ازهارها بالظهور في فصلي الربيع والصيف ، موطنها الصين والهند ، وتنمو في المناطق الإستوائية.
