نبات زينة منتشر في أمريكا الجنوبية. وهو من نباتات المراقد المشهورة فيمنطقة الرياض. وهو نبات حولي متهدل ينمو في المناطق المدارية وشبهالمدارية. ويصل ارتفاعه إلى 15 سم وبعض أفرعه قد تزحف على الأرضإلى بعد حوالي 70سم. والأوراق خضراء بيضاوية مكتملة الحافة. والأزهار حجمها 5-8 سم وذات ألوان متعددة تشمل الأحمر والأصفر والأرجواني. وأجزاء النبات جميعها ذات لزوجة خفيفة. وهذا النبات حساس جداً للمياهالراكدة التي قد تؤدي إلى تعفن الجذور وفشل النبات، ولكن رغم ذلك إلا أنهيحتاج إلى كمية وافرة من المياه ذات الملوحة المنخفضة. وهذا النبات يمكنأن ينمو ويزدهر جيداً داخل المدن ويمكنه تحمل ظروف الجفاف مؤقتاً. واستخدامات هذا النبات عدة وتشمل الزراعة في الأواني وبوصفه نباتمراقد في المناطق العامة المفتوحة، والمنتزهات والحدائق الخاصة. ويمكناستخدامه نبات تحديد، ومغطياً للتربة، وللزراعة في شكل مجموعات.
Ornamental plant is widespread in South America. It is one of the famous shrub plants in the Riyadh region. It is a rolling annual plant that grows in the tropics and subtropics. And it reaches a height of 15 cm, and some of its branches may crawl on the ground to a distance of about 70 cm. The leaves are oval green with rounded edges. The flowers are 5-8 cm in size and have multiple colors including red, yellow and purple. And all parts of the plant have a light viscosity. This plant is very sensitive to stagnant water, which may lead to root rot and plant failure, but despite this, it needs an ample amount of water with low salinity. This plant can thrive well in cities and can tolerate drought conditions temporarily. The uses of this plant are numerous, including cultivation in pots and as a shrub plant in public open areas, parks and private gardens. It can be used as a defining plant, as a mulching plant, and for group planting.
