بذور عشبة الحرشاء
الاسم الشائع : عشبة الحرشاء، العسلوز، العسلوس.
الاسم العلمي : Brassica tournefortii gouan

هو من النباتات الحولية التي تنتشر بكثرة في الحقول ,طوله بين(20- 75)سم, تكسوه أوبار هلبية في اسفله.اما القسم العلوي فهو شبه اجرد,والساق متفرعة بدرجات متفاوتة,الأوراق بسيطة تظهر تنوعا شكليا,فهي في القاعدة كبيرة من(7-20)سم
على شكل وريدة فوق سطح التربة, معلاقية مفصصة بعمق ومسننة الحافة,أما الأوراق العلوية فأصغر حجما ومفصصة غير ان فصوصها اقل عمقا, وتصبح الاوراق العليا مستطيلة الشكل وخطية تامة او مسننة الحافة , ويكسو جميع اوراق النبات اوبار هلبية بدرجات متفاوتة,اما الزهرة فهي مشطية صفراء صغيبرة نسبيا, اما الثمرة فهي خردلة منتصبة او صاعدة تنتهي بمنقارمضغوط قليلا ,يضم (1-2)بذرة, والبذور صغيرة بنية اللون. تزرع في المنازل و حواف الطرقات، وله أوراق مسطحة خشنة مفترشة على الأرض بشكل دائري وتخرج من المنتصف ساق ترتفع للأعلى وتخرج منها الفروع و بعض الأوراق الصغيرة، وهي ملساء ناعمة. تظهر في نهاية الفروع أزهار صفراء صغيرة بقطر 3 إلى 4 مم (مزدوجة الجنس)، تتركب هذه الأزهار من أربعة بتلات متعامدة. و عند سقوط الأزهار يظهر مكانها قرون تحمل بذور هذه النبتة. ينمو النبات في جميع أنواع التربة (الرملية و الطينية و المتوسطة) و سواء كانت حمضية أو قاعدية أو متعادلة. إلا أنه يفضل المناطق المشمسة، و لا ينمو في الأماكن الظليلة. موطنه كل مناطق الوطن العربي المشرق العربي والمغرب العربي والجزيرة الغربية والمناطق المتوسطية في جنوب اوربا. ونبات الحرشاء صالح للأكل, والناس تأكل أوراقه مطبوخة, وفي ليبيا تصنع منه أكلة شعبية تسمى (كسكسي العسلوز),وذلك في فصل الربيع,كما انه في بعض البلدان يزرع ويستخرج منه زيت يستعمل في الأكل. ويستخدم طبيا وخاصة بذوره حيت يستخدم مسحوق البذور الجافة لعلاج الحزاز والبهق وذلك بذهن المكان المصاب بقليل من زيت الزينون ثم يرش عليه قليل من مسحوق البذور. كما يصف مقدار ملعقة صغيرة من مسحوق البذور في علاج القرحة المعدية ولتنظيم الدورة الشهرية.
وتشير بعض الدراسات إلي أن أكل نبات العسلوز يقي من الإصابات من مرض السرطان.

It is grown in homes and road edges, and it has flat, coarse leaves spread out on the ground in a circular motion, and from the middle comes a stem that rises up and leaves branches and some small leaves, which are smooth and smooth. At the end of the branches appear small yellow flowers 3 to 4 mm in diameter (double-sex), which are composed of four petals, perpendicular to each other. And when the flowers fall, pods appear in their place, bearing the seeds of this plant. The plant grows in all types of soil (sandy, clay, and medium), whether they are acidic, basic, or neutral. However, it prefers sunny areas, and does not grow in shady places. It is native to all regions of the Arab Levant, the Maghreb, the West Island, and the Mediterranean regions in southern Europe .And the herbaceous plant is edible, and people eat its cooked leaves, and in Libya a popular dish called (honeydew couscous) is made from it, in the spring season, and in some countries it is grown and extracted oil for use in food. It is used medicinally, especially its seeds, where the dry seed powder is used to treat lichen and vitiligo, and by the mind of the affected place with a little xenon oil, and then a little
seed powder is sprinkled on it. It also describes the amount of a teaspoon of seed powder in the treatment of gastric ulcers and to regulate the menstrual cycle .And some studies indicate that eating the honeydew plant prevents cancer.
